12/11/2009 - Company secures top award from Sunseeker International
A DORSET company is celebrating after beating off global competition to secure a top award from luxury boat builder Sunseeker International.
Total Laminate Systems (TLS) was chosen from more than 500 firms to receive the Platinum award in Sunseeker's annual ‘Supplier of the Year’ awards.
Robert Braithwaite CBE, Sunseeker's founder and Managing Director, personally presented a commemorative plate to Jakki Andrews, TLS’ Managing Director, at the Southampton Boat Show.
The award recognises the Ferndown-based company's achievements for quality, delivery, cost management and customer service.
TLS was selected by a ten-strong panel, chaired by Andrew Peck, Sunseeker's World Service Manager.
He described TLS as “world-class” adding: “The company has been exceptionally helpful and supportive.”
Jakki Andrews said she was “absolutely thrilled” to receive the award.
She added: “We are very pleased, and proud, to work with Sunseeker, a relationship that goes back more than 20 years.”
TLS, which has a £12 million annual turnover, employs 80 staff with sites at Ferndown in Dorset and Thame in Oxfordshire.
The company manufactures cut and edged panels in laminate and melamine for the furniture, boat building, construction, education and shop fitting industries. It also produces wall panelling systems for washrooms.
Sunseeker International is Britain's biggest boat builder and employs more than 2,000 people in Dorset. Founded more than 40 years ago the firm has become a global brand with several new models launched at this year's Southampton Boat Show including its largest-ever motor yacht, the Predator 130.

There are two ways of becoming the Bath Rugby mascot at home Guinness Premiership matches. The first is by joining Butch's Bunch - our fab junior fan club! For each Guinness Premiership match a member is selected at random to become the mascot and to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience.
The other is by booking up one of our mascot packages. This season, along with new Match Day Mascot sponsors Total Laminate Systems, Bath Rugby are launching a new package whereby our most ardent junior fans can become the mascot for a home Guinness Premiership match and lead the players out onto the pitch alongside club captain Michael Claassens*.
The package includes a full afternoon's activities for both one child and an adult, or two children and two adults (other combinations can be arranged if desired).
This fantastic day would start approximately two hours before kick-off with lunch in our new Riverview Suite where you will enjoy a two course hot fork buffet plus hot drinks. You will then make your way to the changing rooms half an hour before kick-off to meet with Team Manager Dave Guyan who will take the mascot on a tour of the changing rooms before meeting the captain.
The lucky mascot will then have his photo taken with the captain by our official club photographer (a copy will be sent to you after the match), take the captain's hand and lead the players onto the pitch!
Job done you will then have match tickets to watch the game and a complimentary copy of the match programme which will contain a feature on you - our match day mascot! Our mascot will also receive a welcome over the tannoy and will receive a signed ball to remember this fabulous experience by.
The cost of this unique package is either £250 for a family of four or £195 for one adult and one child.

TLS are pleased to announce our new website. We have been working for several months now on the design and photography to create a complete overhaul of our site - and we like it. All photographs were taken in November-December 2008 on location at completed projects. We wanted to ensure authenticity of the photo, with proven systems in live situations. These projects are between two-five years old and we are proud to show you the durability of our product in high use areas.
